As always, the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade this year will take place on Thanksgiving morning: from 8 to 11 AM on Thursday, November 23rd.

The parade steps off at State Street and Ida B. Wells Street northward on State to its end point at Randolph Street.

Giant helium and cold-air balloons preside over the procession, with this year’s showstopper inflatables including such iconic characters as Kermit the Frog, the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, and Garfield. A Chicago Thanksgiving Parade highlight is the “balloon limbo” that takes place beneath the “L” at the Harold Washington Library.

The parade will also feature marching bands, equestrian groups, floats, and on-the-go multicultural showcases that celebrate the Windy City’s wonderfully diverse makeup and history.
