The biggest car show in the United States is once again about to rev, roar, and screech into action in the Windy City, and Hotel Chicago almost puts you right in the driver’s seat for the occasion.
That’s right: It’s time once again for the Chicago Auto Show, hitting McCormick Place for its 110th edition this February 10th through 19th. Come experience a celebration of chrome, steel, and the internal combustion engine that’s unmatched in the country!
The Chicago Auto Show: Going Strong Since 1901
Whether you’re an all-out car obsessive or simply somebody who appreciates the sleek elegance of a well-made vehicle, you’ll love the Chicago Auto Show: launched all the way back in 1901 and now a truly internationally renowned exhibition. Nearly 1,000 cars, trucks, and minivans from 36 different manufacturers take center stage across better than a million square feet of McCormick Place’s North and South Exhibit Halls, and more than a million visitors come to admire the goods.
From convertible to crossover, from hatchback to hybrid, from electric to experimental, the fleet at the Chicago Auto Show invariably impresses—and among the ranks are models making their international or national debuts. Last year’s production car introductions included the 2018 Ford Expedition and Toyota RAV4 Adventure.
The show—run by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association—is open from 10 AM to 10 PM each day except its last, Wednesday the 19th (Family Day), when things wrap up at 8 o’ clock.
Besides ogling the featured cars, there’s much else to do at the Chicago Auto Show: The exhibition comes outfitted with five exhilarating indoor test tracks—among them tracks run by Jeep, Chrysler, Toyota, and Ram as well as the Iron Schökl, which the show’s website describes as a “one-of-a-kind extreme torture course”—plus four outdoor test drive setups (courtesy of Ford, Kia, Mazda, and Subaru). And each manufacturer’s zone comes packed with a whole slew of interactive displays.
Tickets for the 2018 Chicago Auto Show are $13 for adults, $7 for seniors 62 and older as well as kids ages 7 to 12, and free for children six years old and younger who come accompanied by a paying grownup.
