Come join us for Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection hospitality in the heart of the Windy City here at Hotel Chicago, and engage in timeless winter fun at one of the world-class skating rinks just a hop, skip, and a jump away!

It’s mighty hard to beat the combination of our impeccable River North accommodations and amenities alongside quality time ice skating with a Chicago skyline backdrop. Come find out for yourself!

Ice Skating Rinks Close to Your Hotel Chicago Room or Suite

You’ve actually got quite a few choices when it comes to wintertime ice skating in Chicago convenient to our Autograph Collection hotel in the Marina City complex. But today we’ll be spotlighting two of the very best-known options: the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink at Millennium Park and the Maggie Daley Park Ice Skating Ribbon. These happen to be just a hop, skip, and a jump from Hotel Chicago—and right nearby one another, as well!

The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink at Millennium Park

The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink is a free skating rink that’ll be running—weather-permitting, of course—through March 5, 2023. This is an iconic skating rink in Chicago’s world-famous Millennium Park, and an absolute must-do on a wintertime getaway to Hotel Chicago. The rink’s open daily from 6 AM to 11 PM.

While you get to enjoy free admission to the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, you do need to make advance reservations online to secure your ticket. Hot beverages and snacks are available on-site, as are skate rentals and skate-sharpening services.

Also, DCASE offers free lessons (again, with reservations required) at the Millennium Park ice rink in beginner and mid-level ice skating and hockey, which go down most Saturdays and Sundays.

The Ice Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park

Over at neighboring Maggie Daley Park, meanwhile, the Ice Skating Ribbon provides a unique linear skating experience alongside stunning views of the cityscape. The Skating Ribbon, which comes handsomely lined with conifer trees and shrubs, unfurls about twice the length of a lap around a normal-sized skating rink.

Open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM, the Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park requires paid tickets and reservations. Here, too, skate rentals are available if you don’t have your own pair.

When you’re not hitting the rink at Millennium Park, the Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park, or any of the other various Chicagoland ice-skating locations, you can be basking in our luxury Autograph Collection hospitality here at Hotel Chicago in River North!
